If you've found your way to Memory Metal, welcome.
I'm Kate, the owner, maker, designer, packer, and tea-fuelled problem solver behind the business. Every order that leaves my shop is created by me, right here in Dorset.
Like many small businesses, Memory Metal didn't begin with a grand business plan. It started with a simple idea: handmade things, made properly, are worth more than something mass-produced and forgotten. My first products were personalised photo plaques - turning a favourite photo into something you could actually display, rather than something scrolled past on a phone.
Friends and family started asking for them. Then strangers did too. Before long, I was making custom pieces for customers across the UK, each with its own story behind it.
Today, Memory Metal has grown into a much wider range of handmade home and giftware - plush toys, notebooks, bookmarks, coasters, wall art, and drinkware, alongside the plaques I started with. Personalisation is still there if you want it, and I still love making something built entirely around your photo or story. But most of what I make now is ready to browse and buy - designed, tested and handmade by me, ready to go without the wait.
One of the things that matters most to me is quality, whether that's a personalised piece built around someone's photo or something straight off the shelf. I take care throughout the entire process - design, printing, pressing, finishing, packaging and dispatch - because a rushed job isn't the kind of thing I want leaving my workshop.
When you order from Memory Metal, you're not ordering from a large company or a warehouse. You're supporting a small, one-woman business where every single order gets my actual attention.
Whether you're picking something up for yourself, celebrating an occasion, or asking me to build something personal from scratch, I'm glad to play a small part in it.
Thank you for supporting my small business.
